Paris syndrome is a sense of extreme disappointment exhibited by some individuals when visiting Paris, who feel that the city was not what they had expected. The condition is commonly viewed as a severe form of culture shock.

It was Sunday, the 3rd of July, 2022. My first ever visit to France. A hectic time of year to visit, as it was summer and school holidays in Europe.

Although I lived in Scandinavia before and have visited a few European countries during those years, I have never visited France.

For this year’s visit to Scandinavia, I have decided to tour Southern Europe and ensure to visit Paris.

Traveling in Europe by train seems much cheaper, especially when you are on a budget. So, I bought a Eurail pass. Never done this country-hopping by land before, so I didn’t know what to expect.

It was so much fun traveling with my sister and niece, who were visiting Europe for the very first time. On the first leg of the trip, we only had one bag each.

But as we got to the 3rd country, we needed extra luggage as we bought a few souvenirs and other stuff (impulse buying, regretful in the end).
